Where to go in October and November: weather in 7 places

Prague 14°C, Dubai 36°C: average October and November highs and sea temperatures for seven destinations from Baku, and what the numbers mean for your trip.

Checked: 28.09.2026

For the sea in October, Antalya, Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai are the safest bets; in November, Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai. For city walks, October favours Rome and Tbilisi — and Prague and Cappadocia if you don't mind cool air.

In the very same week, Prague sees daytime highs of 14°C while Dubai reaches 36°C. That gap changes more than what goes in your suitcase — it changes the whole holiday. In one place you walk the city all day; in the other you stay in the shade until late afternoon. That's why Momento Travel, a travel agency in Baku, starts with your dates and the weather you want before suggesting a destination. So ask the question differently: not "Where should I go?" but "What weather do I want my holiday in?"

The figures below are climate averages, not forecasts. They are based on many years of observations and describe a typical month. Any given week can be different, so always check the forecast a few days before you fly.

How warm is it in October and November?

Destination October, daytime November, daytime Sea, October / November
Prague 14°C 9°C —
Cappadocia 19°C 12°C —
Tbilisi 20°C 13°C —
Rome 23°C 17°C —
Antalya 27°C 22°C 26°C / 23°C
Sharm El Sheikh 32°C 27°C 28°C / 27°C
Dubai 36°C 31°C 31°C / 28°C

"Daytime" here means the average daily maximum — the peak of the day. Mornings and evenings are always lower.

What does the number mean for your holiday?

  • Below 15°C — city walks work, but with a jacket, closed shoes and café stops.
  • 18–24°C — the most comfortable range for walking from morning to night: museums, streets, markets, without getting worn out.
  • 26–30°C — beach season. Save city sightseeing for the morning and evening.
  • 31°C and above — sea, pool and air-conditioned places. Don't plan long outdoor routes around midday.
  • Sea at 26°C or more — comfortable swimming for most people. 22–24°C — brisk as you wade in, pleasant once you're used to it.

Where should you go for an autumn city break?

Prague — 14°C and 9°C

October is still a walking month in Prague: with a jacket you can spend the whole day in the Old Town, on the bridges and up at the castle. In November, highs drop to 9°C and nights average 4°C — this is coat, café and museum weather. The city is just as beautiful; only the rhythm changes.

Cappadocia — 19°C and 12°C

October daytime numbers are ideal for hiking the valleys. But the big moment in Cappadocia comes at dawn: the balloons go up at sunrise, and nights average 7°C in October and only 2°C in November. If you're booking a flight, bring a thick extra layer. November is still fine for walking, though the days get shorter.

Tbilisi — 20°C and 13°C

October is an easy month in Tbilisi for the Old Town, its narrow streets, day trips out of the city and long dinners. November brings 13°C by day — still good for walking, but evenings drop fast, with nights averaging 5°C. Entry rules and a ready plan: a Tbilisi weekend.

Rome — 23°C and 17°C

October is a strong choice for Rome: the days are long, walking is easy, and you can see the Colosseum and the Vatican without the summer heat. At 17°C, November is still good for walking, but rain picks up — about 9 rainy days in the month on average. Pack an umbrella and keep a museum plan in reserve. A ready route: Rome in 3 days.

Where is the sea still warm in October and November?

Antalya — 27°C and 22°C, sea 26°C and 23°C

October in Antalya is a continuation of the beach season: 27°C in the air, 26°C in the sea. November looks different: the sea (23°C) is now above the air temperature (22°C), and rain becomes much more frequent. September averages about 22 mm of rainfall; November gets more than 150 mm. November Antalya is more about a quiet hotel, the spa and strolling through Kaleiçi than about the beach.

Sharm El Sheikh — 32°C and 27°C, sea 28°C and 27°C

One of the most reliable options for an autumn beach holiday. In both months the sea sits at 27–28°C, and rain is practically non-existent. October's 32°C is great for the beach and snorkelling; November's 27°C works for both the sea and daytime walks.

Dubai — 36°C and 31°C, sea 31°C and 28°C

In October Dubai is still in summer mode: 36°C at midday and a 31°C sea. Keep the beach for mornings and evenings and spend the middle of the day in the malls. November brings 31°C, and life slowly moves back outdoors: beaches, the desert, evening walks.

How should you prepare for an autumn trip?

  1. Dress in layers. The gap between day and night is big: in Cappadocia in October it's 19°C by day and 7°C at night. One thick extra layer takes little space in your bag and saves the evening.
  2. Mind the length of the day. Days get shorter in autumn. Start outdoor walks in the morning and keep museums and cafés for the evening.
  3. Check the rain, too. Temperature is only half the story: Rome and Antalya see more rainy days in November, while Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai get almost none.

So which one should you choose?

  • You want the sea: in October — Antalya, Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai; in November — Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai.
  • You want to explore a city: in October — Rome, Tbilisi, Cappadocia and Prague; in November — Rome and Tbilisi, umbrella in hand.
  • You want both: Dubai in November — city, shopping and beach in one trip.

The numbers point the way; the choice is yours. Weather isn't the only filter, either — here's how to pick the type of holiday first, then the country.
